Photographer and documentarian Max Levin died in Ukraine

A well-known Ukrainian photographer and documentary maker Maxim Levin died near Kiev. The police found his body on April 1st. This is reported by the publication "Livyi Bereg".



Levin stopped communicating on March 13. According to Left Bank, Levin, accompanied by a serviceman and former photographer Alexei Chernyshov, went to Guta Mezhigorskaya to record the consequences of Russian aggression. Since then, the connection with both men has disappeared. Later it became known that intense fighting began in the area where he was supposed to work, during which he could be injured or captured. The whereabouts of Alexei Chernyshov is still unknown.

For more than 10 years, Maxim Levin worked in the editorial office of the Left Bank, and also collaborated with the Reuters, BBC, TRT World, Associated Press, Hromadske agencies. His photo was published by Wall Street Journal, TIME, Breaking news Poland, EU AGENDA, World news, The Moscow Time, Korrespondent.net, ELLE, TV-24, Radio Bulgaria, Ukraine Crisis Media center, Vatican news, Radio Liberty (RFE/RL ).

Most of Levin's documentary projects are related to the war in Ukraine.

At least 13 journalists have already died in the war in Ukraine .

One of the dead is The Insider journalist Oksana Baulina. She died under shelling in Kyiv while performing an editorial task. Oksana filmed the destruction after the shelling of the Podolsky district of the capital by Russian troops and came under new rocket fire. Another civilian died with her, two people accompanying her were wounded and hospitalized.
